I had to GTFO of Avenue when the second dude gave me his number. Apparently I send all the wrong signals when I'm drinking alone. Fml

FBD after spending the last 8 days in the hospital with my little girl (finally home and doing well) is my first GOAT from batch 5. No pic because I'm tired as frick.
I'm with the batch 4 crowd. 5 is very good. The nose is still there as well as that pleasantly bitter finish. More of that cat pissy-ness to it this time. I loved the murky citrus bomb that was batch 4.

ETA: sorry yezzy but that's just fricking funny.

That's what pushes it ahead of batch 4 for me.

FBD-drinking the home team

Started work at Coors. Found out that most if not all Coors products are brewed to about 9% then they add water to get the abv down. Coors light is over 50% added water. It costs Coors about $18 to make a barrel of beer(31 gallons). The head of brewing thinks craft beer is a fad that has unsustainable prices and that eventually everyone will try everything and settle on a light lager. They make Blue Moon and what not due to the stupid high margins of craft beer. I agree to an extent except for the light lager view, I find that myopic.

AC Golden operates inside Coors but is completely separate. They have their own equipment and do not share anything with Coors. They have a bottling machine but they have to put the bottles in the 6 packs and cases by hand.

How long does a fad have to last before it's not a fad anymore? The reason we drink craft beer is because we enjoy trying different things and not drinking the same beer time after time after time.

Is gourmet food a fad? I liken BMC to fast food. There are a lot of people who eat a lot of fast food. There are also a lot of people who appreciate a good meal at a fine restaurant. It doesn't mean that one type of food has to win out in the end. Except for Taco Bell. Taco Bell will win the restaurant wars...

What do you do for coors?

That is intesting info You posted. I think that guy is an idiot who thinks craft beer is a fad. If anything it hasn't even reached near crescendo.

I stopped at Bulldog to grab one more before home. Huge mistake. Pint night clusterfrick. Got made fun of for my beer choice because I could have paid less and kept my pint glass. Okay. Cool. I would have preferred he make fun of me because the Sweetwater 18 I ordered is actually just a shitty beer. Oh well. I've seen it around town and was curious. Gimme those untappd checkins.

Everything's cool now. We had a big scare for a minute. 16 month old just quit walking suddenly. Knee infection that got bad quickly. Thank God for Rocephin. She's still not walking like she was two weeks ago but she'll get there. She's a tough one.
