Since Alchemist was a disappointment were cautious about driving far to check out other breweries.. anyone been to Hill Farmstead and/or Fiddlehead?
Where are you staying? Foam and Burlington are great. About 15 minutes from each other, foam is in downtown Burlington.
Hill farmstead will not disappoint. Great beer in a beautiful setting.

What went wrong with Alchemist?

Only offered samples and only 3 different beers. Simply a storefront with samples. I am in Stowe so this was okay but I don't want to drive an hour with a 10 month old to go visit a storefront for 20 minutes.

Everyone have a good labor day weekend?

Been busy moving into a new house, but everything is ahead of schedule and we are ready for the movers tomorrow for all the big stuff. Ahead enough to have a few beers!
3BD: Blackhorse Trail Ale Hazy IPA... pretty thin to be honest.

FBD in Rapid City is a local beer by Lost Cabin Brewing called SoDank.
You can't really see, but that's a deschutes glass. Reminds me of my old hunting grounds.

Somebody warned you about that the other day in the thread. The Alchemist isn’t much to do. Just go to Foam every day. I guess you can go to Burlington Beer Co., but I don’t love their stuff as much as some.
Hill makes the best beer in the country and drinking it onsite is a spectacular experience. But it’s not the taproom experience you sound like you’re looking for — no flights, etc.. It’s a drive way out of your way, put your phone down because service out there is trash (makes it better, IMO), drink two pours, buy bottles, then head to Parker Pie for lunch sort of experience. I can’t imagine doing that with a small child, but your mileage may vary.

Oh I know, and I was ready for Alchemist to not be much. But it's a cautionary tale.. Alchemist is only a few miles down the road from the place I'm staying so it wasn't a big deal and I was glad to go, but other places are much farther so I wanted to be informed before deciding.
I know Hill Farmstead is one of the best breweries out there so I may deal with it and go have a couple of pours and some pizza. Its not like I'm debating on visiting a local Tin Roof.
It makes me wonder why these breweries don't have taprooms. Must be silly laws, right? Vermont is pretty darn liberal so I'd be a little surprised but idk why else.
ETA
Appreciate your input
