I always like getting a nose full of hops when you pry the top off the bottle

That's EXACTLY what happened. Knew I would love it as soon as I opened it.

My brother-in-law doesn't drink, and turned his head to see what just happened when I opened a Racer X because the whole kitchen smelled of hops

SBD is a Racer X. Wow! Huge hop aroma and flavor without the overbearing back end bitterness. My kind of double IPA.

That sounds so good.

FBD is a Odell Myrcenary Double IPA.

This is a damn good beer. Lots of interesting fruity and floral flavors. Nice hop balance. Dangerously drinkable for a 9.3% beer. Not many DIPAs go down this easy.

What do you think? My nose may be off due to a little congestion, but this one is just OK.

Great beer. Probably the best beer I had in Colorado this past summer. I wish we got Odell's stuff here.

Tastes like it has for the last about 15 years of drinking it.

Bunch of their stuff. Regular IPA, Porter, 90 shilling a Scottish ale....all good. Also 5 Barrel Pale Ale which I thought was going to be barrel aged but wasn't. It was just ok.

I am not going to trust my taste until this congestion passes, but it is nothing special tonight.
