Boxer's Revenge has a real dirty funkiness to it. Rather reminiscent of some flavors you get from some Fantome beers.

The BN podcast was fairly interesting on them. Apparently De Ranke and De la senne were big inspirations for them.

You had it at SF Beer week? they were up there during that time.

I think it's right up there with Consecration which is right up there in a top 5 of mine.

RU-55 is the only sour I have yet to have by them, which pissed me off because Flander Red is one of my favorite styles

See, we split the Salt Lick up b/w like 5 people and I almost couldn't finish my portion but others really liked it.

That's what I really like about JK. They like to experiment and it creates polarizing beers that people can talk about.

Even when you don't like a JK beer, I suggest aging a bottle just to see if it ages into something you actually enjoy.

I had Atrial Rubicite when it was an "Experimental Sour Blend" at the brewery and it was pretty damn good. Not quite as good as RU-55, but really good.

I'm interested to see what they do with their first cool ship brew that they started playing with a few months ago.

It's not NEARLY as informative as crooked stave but it's still fairly good. The guys from JK admitted to being fans and learning from BN a whole lot which made it interesting.

They freely admitted that they didn't know a whole lot of the science behind the stuff they put out though.

That one and the wine yeast/oak guy are hard to beat for amount of information. Just downloaded the JK, Anchorage, and Anchor episodes. I have a couple trans-Atlantic flights coming up that will suit these.

I think it was after that. Magnolia had it as a guest beer. Really great sour. I would have to have it again to compare to Consecration. Supplication is probably my favorite. The ability to go buy it on a regular blessing is definitly a treat that I appreciate.
