4miles was telling us about that place last night as well. Sounds really nice there.

It is really nice. We and another family took the kids there 10 years ago and had a good time. The grounds are impeccably manicured and staff/customer service is excellent.
Tons of history at The Grand. IIRC, the building(s) there began as a Civil War era hospital.
Just up the road is Fairhope, with a nice little downtown district with shops and restaurants.
Y'all should make it a nice weekend getaway if looking for something other than the beach scene.

This is all accurate (not sure about the old hospital though), plus they completed a total renovation (every room, every building) last year. There is some serious luxuriating going on here.

That's good to know. There has been some chatter amongst the wives about a return trip in a year or so. Empty nest syndrome and all that.
