FBD - Gnarfest, Gnarly Barley’s 5-year Anny!

Morning Krewe!
FBD was an Equilibrium “A New Level.” Some of their other offerings I got from t00f via Hopfest were good, but this one drinks like an old New England. Very extracty caramel malt with muted hops. It’s starting to get into a West Coast Pale range so I figured I’d break out my WCP Homebrew to drink for SBD while I brew up a NEIPA for a canoe trip at the end of May.
Now this beer is what a West Coast Pale Ale should be! The caramel malts are balanced not by muted old NE dry hops, but by actual bittering additions of Simcoe, El Dorado, & Mosaic with some extra Simcoe Lupulin Powder in the dry hop. Super punchy pine and citrus with a present berry character throughout. It’s dank and resinous with a great balance of strong malt and strong hop flavor/bitterness. Really happy with this one and it’s aged well over the first month.
I’ll do my best to post pics from Gnarfest, but once I start drinking and brewing at 8:00 in the morning, I’m not a very good poster past noon.
