It's not as good as the first time I had it. Tap does seem better. Once it hits room temp it seems to get a flavor that I don't particularly like. If it is cold it is really good though.

Have a Maudite that I was thinking about for my next beer. Isn't an IPA though...maybe once the sun is down.

Thanks for the heads up Kim and ft. I was trolling these threads over the weekend and bought differently to add some variety bc of them. I've got an interesting IPA in the cue and will be looking forward to seeing what you guys think.

FBD- Timber Beast

I know some people have been looking for Parabola. I have some on the way (allegedly) but I got an email this morning from letspour that they had it available. By the time I got from my car to the office to post, it was sold out. Not sure how many they had, but it was less than 15 minutes from the time I go the email to the time I got inside.

Got same email, posted about it in yesterday's fbd thread but it was anchored. Got it at 9:03, was making breakfast. Saw email at ~9:20, already gone.

Makes me wonder if they were trolling and only had like 5 bottles but sent the email to get page hits and see if people would buy other stuff since they were on the page.

FBD was a Brooklyn Local 1
SBD was a homebrewed Simcoe pale ale by the pool while the kids swim. Love this time of year!

Anyone know if Envie is available yet in the NOLA area? Seeing that Canebrake is barely here I doubt it.

The Schlafly AIPA was very good. 2nd time I've picked one up in Wichita.

Haven't seen it in any stores. Canebrake either.

Ave Pub has it on draft.

I noticed some new bar in the FQ called Evangeline (yes in teh FQ, no not the place in MidCity and I have no idea how you can get away with having "Evangeline Lounge" within a mile of each other but I digress) and their selling point is having "local craft brews." No Envie that I saw on the website but it might be a sneaky spot to find some stuff in the future.

Evangeline on Decatur? I went there once. It fricking sucked. Waited an hour for a couple of salads and some burgers. Got up and left after an hour and 15 min. when they still didn't have our food ready. Also dealt with an absolute bitch of a bartender. Don't recall seeing anything other than Abita and Nola on tap .. and not even their more "exotic" beers. frick that place.

Well that sucks. ETA: sidenote - this is one of the main reasons I am reluctant to move to the quarter, no quality beer selection nearby.
