Styles : Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Rioja.

Brands vary and more often than not, I get whatever has the 90+ rating sticker because I don't have time to Google in the middle of an aisle.

Yesssssss

Tonights choice is the end of Decoy Cab and a Sterling Zin. The decoy was not as good as the zin and it was twice the price.

what is your go to when drinking wine?

Like others have said, it depends on several factors. Price, what I'm doing, food pairings, temperature.

I don't drink domestics much. Nothing personal, but that's what I grew up with. I love roses', white burgundy's on the lighter end. For reds, I love Italians particularly the Piedmonte region (barolos, barbera di asti). Spanish- rioja, tempranillo. French- Cotes du Rhone.

Today i have choices: Trefethen cab 2012, Inglenook 1882 Cab 2012, Stratton Lumis cab 2010, Ramey RRV chard 2013, Pahlmeyer jayson chard 2013, Staglin Salus unoaked chard 2013, Nomine Renard Brut Champagne NV, and the star of the day was 2013 JF Merieau Gamay Bois des Jacou 2013

Tomorrow there will be more choices

I'm not gonna list hard to find, or old vintage wines. Just stuff in stores.

Cherry Pie Pinot Noir.
Twomey Merlot (best merlot in U.S. And yes I know merlot has a bad wrap from idiots who watched Sideways)
Darioush Cabernet

Normally it costs me 48-50 bucks. I saw it at Traders Joes for 35 bucks and picked up a few bottles. At that price it's an excellent daily drinker.

What do you guys carry it for.

I get it at wholesale...so less than $35. Technically, I just sample a bottle for customers out if my budget costing me nothing and polish off the rest of it lol. Honestly, Meiomi is still a really close wine to that for half the price.

And I enjoy twomey Merlot as well, but don't overlook Emmolo by the Wagner family that owns caymus, belle glos, and mer Soleil.

While Meiomi is a little less than half of Belle Glos' price, it is a totally different style of wine to me. BG is a pinot that drinks more like a cab and it is tons more enjoyable to drink to my palate than Meiomi.

The only thing I don't like about BG is that friggin' wax cap, sexy looking but a pain to open.

The 2013 meiomi was concentrated and rich, very likened to the belle glos with a touch less oak. Color wasn't getting towards the deep purple hues as well, although I found the oak regiment to be slightly less. The 2014 is more aroma driven to classic Pinot while still having a medium full palate, just more bramble fruits. If you haven't had it in a while, try it again possibly especially if there is 2013 lingering.
