I think that recipe uses a biscuit mix, not plain flour. But, I haven't cooked it.

Yep, those things are amazing. But they're like 10 grams of fat a piece.

What a wonderful story.

Add a little Crisco on top before baking them, you'll thank me later!

My favorites used to be Marshall's in the little foil tray. Hard to find these days if they're even made anymore. They were wonderful.

Marshall's are made by Sister Schubert's, and they're definitely still around.

Not in my town, but thanks for letting me know. I'll look around in other cities.

Mary B's are the best frozen I've found, but I do like to roll my own if we have a crowd for breakfast. There are obviously people who look for prepared foods to save them the trouble, and people who look for an excuse to make their own. Since I bake all of my bread you know where I stand.
Unless you're feeding growing children a steady diet of processed crap, I have no problem with people looking to save time with a good product.

i've always liked them, but the last bag i had would not rise at all, and wouldnt get fluffy
Same thing here. Thought it was just that bag. Bought another one from another store and got the same results. No more Mary Bs!

I love the Mary B's. I recently cooked a whole bag and re-froze them. Now, when the wife and I want just a couple, I take 2 or 3 out and let them thaw for about 30 minutes, then wrap in foil and pop them in the toaster oven on 300 for about 20 minutes. Comes out like fresh-baked and no mess. Works for me.

I think they bake for twenty or less frozen. Why the fuss?

20-25 frozen. I guess I could cut the warming time by raising the oven temp. Just seems to work well that way. Plus, this way, I am only heating the big oven once. I don't know that I will do this every time. We had a bag left over when we came home from vacation in FL and they thawed on the trip back so I decided just to cook them all.

Any of y'all ever tried this recipe?

I cooked some Mary B's at the camp last year that didn't rise. After further review they were from the previous year and had passed the cook by date. That's what I attributed the biscuit impotency to anyway. Have made them since with in date ones and had successful erections everytime.
