LA Lagniappe makes a killer roasted red bellpepper soup. I haven’t had it in a while though.

I've seen people talk about it but never had it. I went back in December and got the gumbo and it had great flavor.

It was a while back so I can't remember if it was a rumor or someone who had worked there who said there really isn't duck in the duck gumbo but rather chicken only. Anyone know if this is true? I've eaten it there many times and regardless, it's good.

Worked there for 2 years in 2000 and ate it nearly every single day. I make mine like it, super thick and rich. Never thought to ask if it was duck, but I doubt it. Didn't care, so good.

I agree. It's absolutely delicious.

I'm curious as to whether it's duck or not.

Unless it's changed, it's chicken meat in duck broth.
