I live about three hrs away and only come down a few times a year for Saints or Pel games. What are some of the best eats in the big easy ?

Walk ons. Good place to pregame if they play in the 3:05/3:25 timeslot

Yea I know the food isn’t good, but it is a fun atmosphere on gameday

And you suggested walkons.

“Favorite” and “best” aren’t necessarily the same thing.

My favorite restaurant is Commander’s, which I also think is the best.

My other favorites are Brennan’s, Kanno, and LA Thai.

Most underrated? Meauxbar.

Not fancy at all just solid good food. Russel's Marina Grill at the Lakefront. Great breakfast anytime and a regular menu. In the area are plenty of other restaurants.
City Diner on Causeway solid breakfast food and regular menu. They have a very large stack of pancakes. They give a pizza box to take home the left over pancakes.
Both places are always crowded at breakfast time (20 minute wait).

I wouldn’t eat much there. The most authentic Cajun food comes from the Lafayette area in my opinion

My votes for “Best” could include any of these any any given night:

Commanders
Clancy’s
Compere Lapin
Brigtsens

Those are my four go-tos... never had a bad experience at any of them. Maypop, Patois, Coquette, and Paladar 511 are climbing rapidly.

I’m a fan too. Amazing how I can really dislike one of their places and love the other.
