Erath is good. We had that while in Seattle. It was the only Pinot Noir sold at the store around the corner from the hotel and we loved it. Was about $17 a bottle but the price may have been a little high being a drug store.
I have ordered tons of Pinot from Garagiste and can not wait to get the shipment in sometime around Christmas. I don't even remember what I have coming but I will be sure to share what we got and how we like it.

Don't know about pricing or availability in Louisiana, but everyday drinkers in that price range
Stephen Ross
Morgan 12 Clone
Fossil Ridge - Edna Valley
Calera Central Coast
Husch - Anderson Valley
Au Bon Climat - Santa Barbara
Argyle - Oregon winery
Benzinger Family - Sonoma
Acacia
Fort Ross "Sea Slopes"
Schug
Saintsbury Carneros
Landmark "Overlook"
Loring "Santa Barbara"
Claiborne & Churchill "Classic Estate" Edna Valley
Banshee "Sonoma Coast"
just a few, if you can find them in your price range.
Chalone and MacRostie if you can get a good price.
Enjoy

I've been drinking the Meomi. It's $17 at the HEB.

Handley cellars has a great Pinot in the 30 dollar range. It's not an "estate" wine but it's their best IMO.

Had a glass of the 13 in Calistoga yesterday. Loved it.

In that price range, I will go with Saintsbury or Kings Estate. Meiomi is good if you want to keep it in the teens. I am getting tired of Le Crema.

Not a fan of California wines generally especially if they've even came near an oak barrel. I swear... I'm no sommelier but I can pick out a California red wine almost every time. I don't know what that taste is but it's always overpowering to me. Like those people who have that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap; that's me and California wine
All that to say..... I do not like Meiomi. To me, pinots should be elegant, complex, and somehow both delicate and strong. I find that Meiomi beats you over the head. For my pinots I go oregon or burgundy if my wallet feels fat

I agree. The heavy style of Cal. Pinots is not my favorite. Sometimes they are blended with zin or something else to make them heavier. They are a far cry from a good French Burgundy but you are not going to find a good French Burgundy in that price range.

One of my favorite wines. I just the Dairyman's vineyard at Rouse's for 57 bones. I used to be able to pick this up at Churchill's for $35.
