I rather enjoy SOS although it's not very pilsner to me. The Wrought Iron IPA is very nice.

Bourbon Street is my favorite. Naughty Quaker is probably second.

I was thinking about this the other day.
Then again, a lot of people don't really know anyway.. regardless of brand.
When I was in Hops and Habanas the other day, I was checking the dates on every IPA that we don't get, and buying every single one that was good. I pick up one pack, and the date is like May or Feb or 2014. Something crazy. So I put it back.
Guy comes right behind me and grabs the pack I put back and bought it.
But you're right.. that causes people to think something is really awful when it isn't. Wrought Iron seems to be everywhere in mass quantities.

Going to agree with previous posters on Oyster Stout as my favorite.
Quaker and Bourbon Street are also good.

Grand Reserve is sitting on shelves here. Looks like you might be able to buy bottles aged come end of this year.

How do you know they won't sell out and have a re-shipment?
Abita does that best by bullshite. IIRC the last batch said best by May 2015? What a crock of shite... but at least you'll have a baseline for future purchases.

Of the Abita beers I've had:
#1 - Mayhawk - by far my favorite beer they've ever released, bottle or draft. I hope they re-release one day. In bottles would be amazing.
#2 - Bourbon Barrel stout - Damn good.. too much bourbon flavor for me, but a solid offering
#3 - Oyster stout
#5 - Machiatto
#6 - Wrought Iron IPA - Their best IPA, imo
#7 - Imperator
#8 - Quaker oatmeal stout
Then the rest in any order.

Amber on tap.
Really different from the bottle.
If i had to drink one beer i think it may be amber. Has enough flavor that is know i am drinking something, and is still light enough to get wasted relatively easy on.

I liked the vanilla turbodog they did a few tears ago. The bourbon st porter is good too.
