Heading there next weekend and wondering what y’all suggest for some nice lunch and dinner options. Also are there any good whiskey bars out there? Hoping To hip up the brewery while there as well. Cheers and TIA

Hope Farm across the street from the brewery was great. I’m not a whiskey guy but I think they have a large selection.

Sage downtown is a great spot for lunch if you like Greek food.

Thyme is also a really good lunch spot.

Wash house for dinner is a nice “upscale” dinning

Camellia Cafe is also a good option.

One more - Dragon fly food bar for a dive spot with some good tacos. Another lunch option.

I agree with all of this. Dragonfly Food Bar or Sage for lunch and Wash House for dinner.

We enjoyed McSharry's Irish Pub. Incredible burger, fun waitstaff.

There's also a wine bar downtown that has great small plates.

Dragon Fly for lunch and Washhouse for dinner. Reservations recommended for Washhouse.
All others recommended are good too but these 2 are my favorites.

FYI there is probably a Parade in downtown fairhope Friday night. It won’t be crazy but there will be a solid crowd.

Places I’ve been:

Camellia cafe(great)
Char 32(mediocre)
Wash house (great, finer dining)
Wok by the Bay (great Japanese, sushi pizza is interesting)
Fairhope inn (hit or miss, changed chefs recently and heard good things dinner/more brunch)
Hope Farm (great, finer dining)
Red and white( great pizza, cheese boards wine but casual)
The mill (food house with TVs and bar)
Sage(above average Greek food) may be a good option for parades on Friday night because they have a small patio out front.

Bars:

Tiki bar(outdoor on the beach, only weekends)
Bone and barrel(live music and happening)
Pins and pints(hole in the wall with pin ball machines and game)

Dragonfly and Washhouse it is. I’ve seen enough of you recommend these.

We are heading there Saturday morning, so we are missing the parades. Was hoping there would be one Saturday night, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Oh well

Julwin's is the local classic. There is an Another Broken Egg a couple of blocks away that is solid.

All of the places listed above are good. About 2 miles from Fairhope on Hwy 98 in Daphne is somewhat of a new place called Southwood Kitchen. To me that’s the best place to eat in Baldwin County. The owner was the long time head chef at Jesse’s in Magnolia Springs. Last week I had elk tenderloin with a chimichurri over a mushroom and spinach risotto. It was outstanding. The Snake River filet with a wine reduction sauce with lump crab and a fried oyster on top is amazing. The fish dishes are tasty. The pork belly and watermelon appetizer sounds odd to me but tasted great. Lunch is good there too. The menu changes daily on many items. You have to make reservations for dinner.

I’ve had some good meals at R Bistro and Gambino’s. The burgers at Locals are good. Seemed like I got the buffalo burger last time. The Dragonfly in Fairhope or Daphne is tasty. Wish I had the recipe for the wing appetizer. Panini Pete’s is good. Love their black and blue burger. To me the best value for lunch is in Daphne at Guido’s. The amount of lunch portions at Guido’s are huge and it’s dirt cheap for the quantity and quality of food you get. Daphne really doesn’t have great restaurants but Guido’s and Southwood are my favorite lunch and dinner spots and where they are located is close to the Daphne-Fairhope line. The two cities kind of merge together on Hwy 98. I don’t mind driving 2-3 miles to eat at either of those places. I like Tamara’s too.

The more I think about it between historic Fairhope and the historic part of Daphne the food is pretty damn good.

In addition the above mentioned,

Billee's bbq
Southwood Kitchen (might be considered daphne but its good)

Also if you want to get adventurous, Roosters in downtown Mobile is great and the Catalina in Bayou Lebatre is the best crab claws. it's a total dump with erratic hours so call ahead, but their claws and red shrimps are amazing.
