Elijah Craig 12 year - Keep hearing good things about it ...

Is it as good as woodford, makers, knob creek, etc and just cheaper like what I've heard? Is it better? Is it worse? Going to buy a bottle anyway cause it's only like 23 bucks...

That was my go to for the three years I lived in Alabama. It was only $23 in the ABC stores there, everywhere in TN the same bottle is $33. Only liquor I've noticed with such a large discrepancy.
But it really is a good bourbon to me.

I don't know your preferences, but this is a whiskey and rye blend that I happen to like. Try it out for yourself and report back.

Will do, it's cooled of enough it's whiskey time.

If you can find the Elijah Craig 18 yr old, it is worth a few extra bucks

Haven't seen it around, but I'll glance for it first.

As you can see from my signature image, I am a big fan.

I am a bartender at a place on the northshore with the most extensive bourbon selection you'll find north of the lake, and my boss (who is a hardcore bourbon fanatic) will recommend Elijah Craig 12 year to everyone as the best bang for your buck, or "beginner" bourbon for those with less experience, and I must say that I completely agree. Its very hard to beat based on the quality and taste you get for the price you pay. Of course the 18 year is going to be "better", but for a 12 year aged bourbon, it's very, very hard to beat, especially for a sub $30 bottle at retail price... I'd recommend the Elijah Craig barrel proof if you're a fan of the stronger, bolder varieties.

Got a bottle today, very smooth (especially for 94 proof) and kinda woodsy. Definitely a really good bourbon. For 24 dollars you can't beat it, that's for damn sure. Will buy again.

No it's not. Its a rye based straight bourbon. Bourbon is whiskey and its definitely not a blend

I'm curious as to where this is, the best I've found so far is surprisingly The Chimes.

It is damn fine and cheap...also try out buffalo trace...another one that is low priced and good to go IMO

Ding ding ding. It does come as a surprise to most people since it's considered a "beer place" but the liquor selection is massive. Not only in bourbon, but scotch and tequila as well.

Yea buffalo trace seemed really good for the price. I'm relatively new to bourbons though. Gonna have to try craig.

I think it's damned good for the money. Given the choice between $50 Angel's Envy or $23 EC 12 year, I'm going EC 12 every time.
Now if you can find some Elmer T Lee, don't hesitate. Buy it and you'll have another damned fine bourbon at around $30. Not much if anything I'd choose over Elmer T Lee because of its quality/price.

^ this. Picked up a bottle last night and was very pleased. Albertsons on College was a little high priced though @ 27. Probably find cheaper elsewhere.
