seemed to have gone up quite a bit since June/July. Or is that just in Ala?
Were sub $2, now 3.60-ish

Said the same thing to the wife just 3 days ago. In Rouses and a dozen were close to $5 with 18 being just over $7 a carton.

Yes, the supply is down so prices will increase. Don’t expect them to be lowered any time soon. Also affected are products made from eggs like mayonnaise.

My wife likes to buy organic, pasture-raised eggs only. They're like $7 a dozen. Hope that makes you baws feel better.

We're getting chickens when we buy our next house.

They've gone up, we normally buy the 36 pack from WalMart. They were about $7-8 a few months ago.

I worked with a guy who sold eggs from pasture raised chickens for $2 a dozen. I bought 2 dozen a week from him for years. One day he tells me, Man I have to go up on my eggs, feed went up. I said no problem how much are they now $5 for 2 dozen. Still a hell of a deal and I continued buying. I ended up leaving that job and my egg supply went away.

~$3.50 for an 18 pack a week or 2 ago. Now double that and then some. I get the supply & demand but the recent prices seem much more volatile than what I can recall.

Eggland’s Best are ridiculous. You’d think they are made of gold or something

We're getting 14-20 a day right now. Wife sells a dozen for $5 for the ones we don't use.

Every time egg prices go up my wife wants to spend $500-$1000 on a coop and chickens. I get the 5 dozen box from wal mart every week so they come out to about $3 per dozen. High AF but not high enough to where it makes me want to take care of chickens.

When I’m not cutting, I’ll go though 6-7 eggs per day. Add in another mouth or two, and I can see going through 5 dozen a week.

[wait a minute ..never mind.

I'm here thinking five flats of eggs, and he's talking about two flats.

Forget what I said earlier. I'll finish my coffee before responding to any further threads. Carry on.

My wife's custom built coop she ordered two years ago still has me in the hole. Think it'll pay for itself in 9-10 years with the cost of chicken feed.

That $500-$1000 is low. Price in feed and your wife possibly becoming a person who wants 18 varieties of chickens with different colored eggs. It's best to look at eggs as a byproduct of a person's hobby of keeping chickens and not a cost saving measure.

It's been a few years since I looked hard at it but that was just the start up cost for building a coop. She would 100% end up obsessed with it and want to buy a whole farm in addition to the 18 varieties of chickens.

That's my wife

We have 1 8x8 coop with a 20x40 run. There are 17 chickens in there. Blue, green, cream eggs.

Another 16x8 shed/coop with a 15x40 run. There are 20 chickens in there. Blue, dark brown, cream eggs. Some silkies in there as well.

Eating all the eggs we can and selling the rest I don't think I'll ever break even. It's a fun hobby though, chickens are a hoot. We have 3 hens broody right now so the count continues to rise.

I spend 60 dollars a month on chicken feed and get a dozen a day out of the yard. My eggs always cost 2 dollars a dozen.
