Does Jambalaya freeze well?

I never tried to freeze this. I imagine it would keep as well as cooked rice... but I don't think I've ever frozen that either.

No, not as well as gumbo or courtbullion.

You can but in my experience it changes the texture to a bit mushy once it is thawed and reheated. If that does not bother you then do it is zip lock bags and flatten them out when freezing.

I have had similar experience....better than throwing it away, but not something you would cook jambalaya to intentionally do...

I tried it once and ended up throwing it away.

Why didn't you give it to your dog? Dogs love failed food.

the jambalaya shoppe here in br has a decent jam when they cook it fresh. but lately it tastes like they've warmed up pre-cooked frozen jam, and it's not very good at all...no, is the correct answer.

I'll let you know tomorrow.
Actually I do have some frozen but it was saved in my vacumn packer and that seems to do ok. Just instead of thawing put frozen bag in boiling water and reheat that way. Or really just simmering water. Seems to do ok like this.
It works ok for a school night. Wouldn't want to have it for a dinner party. Still better than the boxes.

ive frozen it in ziplock bags and it was alright... not great but alright... tends to lose a little flavor... add some tonys to it and youll be ok... not bad when you dont feel like cooking

We do it all the time. The trick is when you put it in the microwave, sprinkle water on it and it just gets better.

I would not go so far to call it great

I vacuum seal some from time to time, and it keeps pretty well. Rarely keep it more than 2 months. Thaw and reheat in the microwave.

Martini got it, vacuum machines are well worth the money because you can reheat in the bag. You can even freeze beef stew with potatoes and reheat without the potatoes falling apart.
