The date will depend on construction. I think they are shooting for October.

The food is good and margs are good. It’ll be a great addition to Lafayette.

I passed by yesterday, they are making headway with the new building. I can’t believe we’re finally getting a Chimes and a Superior

And Chimes looks like it'll be open sometime in the Summer.

Food’s ok, but expensive. Lafayette has horrible Mexican food, so this will do great.

The chimes has some pretty good food choices….
I find the food at superior grill to be average at best…. Drinks are better than the food….

I've eaten at Superior in Shreveport a good bit, years ago.

Really good margs, slightly above average quality food at much higher than above average prices.

So basically, for Lafayette, another LaFonda.

I'd rather just keep patronizing LaFonda, personally, since it's been a local Lafayette business for decades, rather than an out of town establishment that's pretty much the same exact thing.

As for Chimes, yes, another out of town outfit, but the combo of some pretty good Cajun/fried seafood with a huge craft/local draft beer selection is something Lafayette doesn't appear to have yet. So that one is something to look forward to, for me, personally.

I've been to the locations in BR and New Orleans a few times and always thought it was barely above average food, good drinks, but expensive as hell. Lafayette will no doubt flock to this place, I'll be at LaPagua.

Also, the amount of Mexican restaurants near Ambassador from Costco to Walmart is pretty insane.

The Lafonda model has worked well for years

As far as Mexican food no way in hell

Superior's fajitas, and carne asada blow Lafonda's out the water

The best food at Lafonda is the non Mexican food

Does Superior still serve shrimp with the shell on for their fajitas?

True on some counts, as previously mentioned.

The BEST Mexican food is La Hacienda, located in front of the new V.A. medical clinic on Ambassador Caffery, across from Wal Mart, one block north of Hooters.

Not nearly the same atmosphere, ambiance, or personality of Superior or LaFonda, but it is the best tasting Mexican food in town.

Order the Molcejeta or the fajitas and see for yourself.

My boss took us there a few times when we had to travel to Shreveport. It was good but I don’t find it any different than any other good Mexican restaurants. We have some pretty good ones in the Alexandria area
