Do you have an opinion on Sonic waiters and waitresses?

Do you believe they should still be required to wear skates? When a lady delivered my meal by foot today I was highly disappointed. I know it's nothing new and the majority deliver it to your car by foot but it dawned on me that the days of roller skating waiters/waitresses at Sonic are long gone

Some do, some don't. If the restaurant required it, they would absolutely get sued by the first klutz to fall and skin a knee.

They don't have to at all, but they are paid a dollar or so extra an hour if they wear them.

Maybe that's not the case everywhere though.

I don't really care, TBH. Only thing I noticed is if the chick is cute or not..

All i worry about is prompt service, a nice greeting, and whether or not they have extra ketchup with them. I hate when they have to go back inside to get it, makes me feel like such an arse for troubling them. but hell, you work at a burger joint, carry some extra condiments in your pouch.

I don't get annoyed when they don't skate although it is novel to me to when i do see it. I do respect them more than normal drive in window employees but not as much as the hustling workers at chik fil a or in and out.

Move this to the OT as it really has not a damned thing to do with food and only deals with nostalgia at best.

More like $.10 more an hour. Ask me why I didn't skate when I worked there.

The one by my apartment had a sign out last week that said "now hiring skating carhops."

But not unclean. I have a bit of nostalgia for Sonic as I grew up in Covington and miss the hell out of Badeaux's and Sonic is the closest thing to a "good old American Drive-In". I find the burger to be good(much better than McD's or Burger King) and it satisfies a craving for a good cheeseburger and a malt every now and then. The one is Covington on Tyler Street is not on a huge main drag and has a more neighborhood feel... thus my defense of Sonic is complete. I like the rollerskating but I am not disappointed when it's not there.

I approve of Sonic because when I go there for ice cream I do not get "the machine is broken" like I get at McDs or Jack in the box.

eta: I approve of non-skating because I am scared the skaters may trip and drop my cone.
