Dinner in Nola

Haven’t been back in a few years.
Going to to Jazz Brunch at Mr. B’s on Sunday before Saints game.
But Saturday night was trying to decide between R’evolution, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, Doris Metropolitan
Any other suggestions?

I love the atmosphere, but I would put them last on the list you have. R'evolution and Doris much better.

Doris if you want steak. Revolution if you want other offerings

My wife and I have been to R'evolution for her birthday the last few years, and have loved it each time. I second the August recommendation, too.

If you want something a little different, I cannot recommend Saba highly enough.
It's Alon Shaya's new restaurant. Went there for dinner about a week or so ago and it was absolutely outstanding.

We had a great time at Brigtsens last time we were in New Orleans (around Easter last year). Also had a very nice meal at Emeril's on that same trip. Could't go wrong at either place.

Saba for lunch. Bywater American Bistro for dinner, might be my new favorite restaurant in NOLA. Nina Compton joint.

I recently tried revolution and loved it. Will definitely be back next trip in.

What’d you have? I need to try it next time I’m in NOLA.
I wonder how Shaya is doing after he left. That place was talk of the town for years

Hit La Boca for steak. You won’t regret trying it.

Well it's tapas style, so between the 4 of us at the table we ordered a decent amount of food. From looking at the menu, I know we got:
Appetizer:
Bulgarian Feta (preserved leeks and coriander)
Hummus:
Lamb Tongue (pickled barberries, red onion, almonds)
Blue Crab (beech mushrooms, lemon butter, mint)
Brussels Sprouts (spicy chilies, caramelized onions, black garlic)
Side:
Crispy Potatoes (black garlic)
Entrees:
Duck Hearts (smashed cucumber, zhoug, sesame)
Octopus (shawarma spices and tomato)
Lamb Kebab (charred red onion, caramelized tomato, tahini)
And then a dessert that I can't remember.
It was all fantastic, but the lamb tongue hummus was probably my favorite.

I haven't had their new blue crab hummus (although a friend said it wasn't as good as when it was blue crab and roasted corn). The octopus is the best I have had to this point in the city.

....yes. I know all of that. I recommended Saba to the OP, someone else asked what I had, and I answered the question.

Yea, I ended up going back and editing right before you posted when I saw you had brought Saba up. My B.
