Started this thing February 6th and finished it this afternoon. My first attempt at any kind of grill and I’ve gotta say I’m pretty damn happy with it.

Hell yeah
You use 3/16 or 1/4 steel?

Looks incredible. I'd love to have the skills and resources to do something like that.
Always wanted an offset but can't bring myself to buy one of thevpaper thin ones you find in stores.

3/8 except for the end caps.
Cook chamber is 26” outside diameter pipe 4’ long 3/8ths thick. Firebox is 20” OD 20” long 3/8 thick. End caps are 1/4” thick. Smoke stack 5” OD and I think it’s 36” tall but I’d have to measure I don’t remember for sure. The cart is all 2x2 square tubing. Think it’s 10 gauge but not sure.
Vast majority of the build was scrap metal I found. I think I’m in it for 5-600 bucks not counting consumables.

Skills you can learn brother. As far as resources I was blessed with a lot of access to scrap iron to work with but when talking about tools? I did 99% of this with a $300 harbor freight stick welder and an angle grinder in my carport. You don’t need as much as you think you do.

Very cool! I’ve had access to a few over the years but I have never had my own. Nice job! Hope you have many years of incredible bbq in that thing!

That's quite a fine rig you have there. Can't wait to hear about the cooks you're about to do on it.
