Midway is pretty terrible. Like worse than frozen pizza terrible.

I don't get all the Theo's hate. Probably my favorite everyday pizza

Ancora and Domenica are probably tops. Really enjoy Pizza D as well.

I feel like everyone hates NOLA pizza. I came to this thread hoping to find something for a situation just like VOR. But left deciding not to get pizza tonight.

I don't think that's very fair. To me it seems more like there are just an abundance of mediocre to bad pizza joints around town.

There are at least 7 or 8 pizza places in Nola metro that I would say are quite good. And I haven't even been to MW, Pizcar or PDelish

Nah, there's a lot of good pizza here.

I just thought Midway was awful, and was really disappointed, in hoping that it would actually be Chicago style.

Places I like, in no particular order:
Ancora
Pizza Delicious
R&O's (very underrated in the pizza department, and rarely mentioned in these discussions)
Tower of Pizza
Slice
Theos (Yes, their crust is a bit atypical, but I really like it)
Mo's
NY Pizza
Venzia
Place by the Boot
Sugar Park (not as good as PD, but still solid)
Domenica (usually)
Gulf Pizza

I'll have to try glass's Chicago rec.

This is my biggest gripe. I just want what I had that one time in Chicago.

It was like meat pie.

Well, after all of that . . . I was having an early birthday celebration yesterday afternoon (we're going out for the official birthday dinner tonight)and I lingered a tad too long at my neighborhood bar. I made the mistake of calling my wife and inviting her to come by, have a drink and then we'd go to Ancora. And she did. Unfortunately, I was on another planet by the time we got to Ancora and didn't feel like eating anything. Thank God I get a pass for it being my birthday weekend or I have a feeling she wouldn't have been quite as gracious as she was.

I went to Pizza Delicious and got the Margherita pizza. It was OK but was cold after I made it home. I picked it up a little late.

That is one cool arse spot though!
