Came here to say this. Their lunch menu and lunch specials are in the regular rotation, plus it is a great place to sit on a nice day.

If you like sushi, almost all sushi restaurants do sushi lunch plates/bento boxes for much less than you'd pay at dinnertime.

Mike Anderson’s is good - it’s consistency they have a problem with

But that’s most restaurants

The value of the Cajun Plate lunch special at Mike Anderson is unmatched.

I also like their food.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. I went a few weeks ago for the first time in years and it was very “meh”.

Also they don’t have fried oyster plates or even a fried oyster poboy :(

Years ago when I first got to BR me and mom would tear up some Mike Anderson’s. This was like 1998-2003 or so. Had a great crawfish bisque that they took off the menu if I recall. Sad. Still always enjoyed it.

Been living in the area going there for years and really enjoy the batter they use to fry with. if you catch it fresh, right out the fryer with some onion rings, its hard to beat.

what is your go to for fried seafood ?

I only eat fried seafood a few times a year, but when I do, it is usually Parrains or Chimes. I worked at Dempsey's throughout college and ate it there constantly, but that no longer exists on this side of town.

I should clarify that I didn't think Mike A's was bad.. it was just nothing like it used to be. I admit the very poor service and.. strange.. clientele at that time probably clouded my opinion too But man. A big ole pile of fried oysters is the only fried seafood I order, and they don't even offer that.

I assume they don't purchase oysters in buckets like other places, hence why they will only toss a couple onto seafood plates with other stuff on it?
