There's a lot of cajun creativity around here. Do you have any custom made cooking equipment? (Burners, Grills, Paddles, Paddle stands, etc). I'm always amazed at some of the things that people come up with and some of these plant working guys weld up some pretty awesome stuff. I was cleaning up the shed this weekend and noticed I have multiple burners adjustable to cook pots from 6qt to probably 40 gallon

I see lots of custom stainless burners/stands made with donated materials from plants.

"Donated"

On a side note, I have a buddy whose grandpa grew up in the plants and they have a 30'x60' shed made solely from donated plant material.

I've got a buddy who had his guys make him a jet burner. They accidentally used the wrong donated material and he essentially now has a $1000+ jet burner

My late father-in-law had a brother who took a large stainless steel restaurant size dishwasher and made a beautiful smoker of out of it.

He gutted it and welded tabs for shelves, cut a hole in one end and in the top. Then he built the fire box and welded it to the outside, placed a stack with an adjustable lid on the top of the smoker to regulate heat and smoke.

He got some stainless steel heavy duty mesh and made the cooking grates and that thing could hold at least 20 chickens or 6 large briskets or Boston Butts at a time.

I used it when we had large family gatherings and lots of food needed preparing.

The old man died and when I went out to his place to get it since nobody else in the family wanted it, someone had already stolen the damn thing. Pissed me off royally.

Nice work. How many pounds of crawfish can that boiling pot hold???? Looks like a couple sacks if my dimension estimates are correct.

3 sacks, maybe 4. It's 200 quarts.

Now, that's what I call a boiling pot.

Being as you have a fabrication shop and the talent to put it to good use, I'll assume you sell things you fabricate.

If so, how much would such a pot set a person back???

Looking for this as well. One that doubles as a lid holder

The bodies are all 1/8” 5052 aluminum and the jet burners are 316 stainless tube and pipe. Only the orifice is brass.

Sounds like it could be something to sneak in a couple on some extra space on a CNC nest, or run a bunch at one time. I’ll make a prototype just to see, never know what catches on.

I sell 100’s of door bins for Viking refrigerators and it’s down to about 5 minutes per part if I do a few dozen at a time.

It appears you've welded a thing or two in your time.

Definitely let me know what you come up with. I’ll see if I can dig up some pics of what’s being used out here to give you an idea.

My Uncle. He worked maintenance in a plant where everything was stainless. He has all kind of burners for all different size pots. Heres a little Instagram Video he even made his own spoons and strainers. Stuff you can buy for $8, he took 4 hours to make to save himself a few dollars, LOL.

The bbq pit at the camp is made of inconel 718.

I'd say, conservatively, it weighs 250lbs.

It was not made from scrap.

Just the 15in 6ft cylinder would be roughly more than the camp.

A buddy of mine has a mnemonic (spelling) wire setup for hog cooking.

According to him it'll be around for the next 10k years as long as no one sells itm
