I know most crawfish boils have potato and mushroom as sides. What I like to know if you just want to eat the crawfish only, what is the bare minimal list of ingredients you would use for 1 sack of crawfish. Thanks.

One bag of La seasoning, 8 jalapenos halved, cut and squeeze 3 lemons and a heaping tablespoon of chow chow. Boil for 7 minutes and soak to your desired taste. So simple and it's perfect every time. FYI, I boiled last weekend and they're starting to get tough and don't peel like the early harvest.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a sack of crawfish and one package of crab boil.

It's fun to add more ingredients and play with seasonings, but the truth is, one pack of seasoning is not bad.

Anyone who says otherwise are those who are just trying to stand out by doing something different like they know a secret nobody else does.

That's because they're overcooked.

ETA OP a large sack of powder and 2 cups each of liquid boil and lemon juice will work just fine.

Shells are getting hard, but boiling for 7 minutes is absolutely overcooking.

I had some nice spillway crawfish last week that weren't hard at all Rob. Stop overcooking your crawfish and they'll be easier to peel.

What about onion and garlic? I see those in every recipe. Are those consider sides or does it add to the taste of the crawfish?

1 container or bag of crawfish boil mix + 1 small bottle of liquid boil. Depending on your water volume and the heat level you want you could maybe drop the additional liquid boil.

Boil in plain water. Drain and dump into ice chest, shake on Tony's. Lafayette style.

So you’re really boiling for 7 minutes plus however long it takes the water to get from hot to boiling temp.
