It won’t be long until lots of them go down I think. Over saturation and over extending. Not all the people starting these places will have the business skills to keep up.
The dot beer crash.
You have to think the point of over-saturation is coming

The market is huge but there’s only so much beer people can drink. This doesn’t apply to the FBD crowd here of course.

I love the fruit beers.
I hate all IPA's.

Why? If I fought everyone with terrible taste I'd never leave the Sonic.

Our consumption can manipulate the stock market and regulate long term parking at MSY.

It is. Louisiana is usually 5 to 10 years behind a lot of the country. It's not meant as an insult, but is what it is. Other parts of the country have dealt with the over saturation and adapted

When is this supposed to happen? They are posing on social media today about their saturday tours.

A family member of my buddy's was brought in a while ago to do financials and apparently they tried to pay him in beer. Average beer.
That was not too long after the Heiner Brau shift.

I can’t name one of their beers other than the Strawberry one and I think I’ve had it one time. Too many better options out there.

I have a buddy that loves their Ponchartrain Pilsner. He's gonna be crushed.

i liked their strawberry a lot more than Abita's. a lot more.
Buy cans of Abita and keep them in the closet from year to year. I just bought 5 12 packs last night so I can start working through last year's batch.
A little more berry on the nose and a little more beer on the palate.

Their strawberry fresh out the tap was incredible, but it tasted disgusting bottled some times. It was a really inconsistent bottled beer. They were better as Heiner-Brau as the packaging looked much MUCH better.

When you got abita, chafunkta, old rail, and gnarly barley close by, why go to covington? Never found a beer from their that I liked... They didnt keep up and create good shite

Sooooo.... Covington, MudBugs, and 40 Arpent so far
None of them had a single beer anyone would go to the brewery and get, may be why. I know mudbug basically refused to make an ipa for some reason.
These small breweries that make pilsners and golden ales and try and attract the bud light drinking crowd just don’t get it. Those people aren’t going to buy your locally made bud light at 2x the price.
Gotta make beers the beer lover crowd wants or you aren’t going to make it.

I hear you, but with Pilseners being the more difficult beer to make, would a place that makes really good Pilseners and Lagers not have a niche?
If you are trying to compete with Bud with rice and fillers I agree.
I also think the reason most breweries don’t make pils is because it’s going to be expensive.
Just some thoughts.

doesn't matter how hard or easy it is to make if it's not a style that attracts people

Obviously not if these places are shutting down.
