Is this place worth checking out Saturday before heading to the game? I’ve heard good things just wanna get the board’s opinion.

I don't know if it's good enough to go out of your way for, but it's not bad. If you are in PA or just passing through give it a shot.

Son and I stopped last Sunday on our way back into BR for a late lunch, based on a posters recommendation. I was surprised how good it was.

Agree the sauce wasn’t great - but I got a 2 meat babyback & fatty brisket plate - solid.

As they said, if ur passing thru or in PA - it’s a good spot.

yes, its good. Its worth the 5 minutes it will take you to get there. Is it Pinkertons or Pit Room good? No. But its one of the better BBQ joints in the BR area (which probably isn't saying much).

But its a BBQ joint in Port Allen. Small and filled with locals. Enjoy your people watching while you eat your meal.

It's good quick bbq....would have done better in br if it had been in a better location...moist brisket is great...only real complaint that i had is the sides being way too small..

brisket nachos are great, and they use the good chips.

I like their baby back ribs and moist brisket. Oddly enough that brisket baked potato is good. I really haven’t tried a lot of things here because I always order the same thing. I have a customer that likes for me to buy lunch for him there. That place on weekdays gets crowded as hell by 11:15 AM. I typically don’t like to eat at BBQ places unless it’s some iconic place that I want to try because I do a pretty good job of that at home. But to answer your question OP I agree with the other posters that if you want BBQ it’s pretty good.

My favorite bbq in or around baton rouge hands down. Moist brisket is my go to every time. I second the best baked beans ever. It's loaded with meat and the flavor is awesome.

I think they fry their own chips. Went once and had to wait on nachos because they had to whip up another batch.

Do yourself a favor and get the bread pudding! Hopefully they are still putting Jack in the whiskey sauce on top.
