Headed to Coronado next week looking for a few must try places breweries, pubs, local cuisine, views etc. Can be fine dining or casual only thing scheduled right now is sunset dinner at Hotel Del. TIA

Hotel del is such a cool spot. Didn’t eat there but the wife and I had a really great lunch at The Henry down the street.
Also had a reservation at Born and Raised. The most expensive meal I’ve ever personally paid for, but everything from the food to the vibe was top notch. Little Italy is an awesome spot with a ton of good options from what I heard.

Juniper and Ivy is good.
Bluewater Boathouse.
George’s if you feel like driving up to La Jolla.

Peohe's has both amazing views of the city as well as fantastic food. I can't go to San Diego without hitting there for dinner at least once.

Lived there for a few year in the Marines. I dearly miss any mexican place that ends in "bertos" lol. Have a good California burrito for me while you're there.

Just back from a long weekend there. The hotel is beautiful, didn’t eat there this time, but have in the past. We had Taiwanese food at Din Tai Fung that was excellent, then a nightcap cocktail at Raised by Wolves next door (reservations needed for both). The rest of the time, it was hole in the wall places in North Park near where my son lives. Sushi/Japanese at a tiny hole in the wall called Ju-Ichi was as good as any I’ve had, and very reasonable. Mexican, pick a spot and it’s likely to be good. George’s was on the to-do, the view is spectacular, but we were in LaJolla in the middle of the afternoon and too stuffed from our brunch to eat at that point.

Went with the kids a few years ago, stayed at Marriott Marquis on the Bay. I remember the family (kids) really liked Puesto as a casual dining night and we went to Barbarella in La Jolla in a cool area to walk, hang and overlook the Pacific.

We just got back from SD.
My favorite dinner was at Asti in the gaslamp district. Great italian. I think every worker in there was full italian and english was their second language, including our smokeshow of a waitress.
My favorite lunch was El Pescador fish market in La Jolla.
We spent half the trip in downtown SD and half on the coast in Del Mar, and enjoyed the coast much more.

I like Duke's in La Jolla.
It's an Hawaiian inspired menu (I think the only locations are in Hawaii and SoCal). The food was solid. The dessert, Hula Pie, was one of the best desserts I've ever had. But make sure to get reservations and sit outside. It's a beautiful view of the cove and Pacific. Especially at sunset.
No doubt!
One of our uber drivers, older guy who was life long resident of San Diego, said right out of the gate "you have to get a Cali burrito". I didn't know there was a distinction. He took us somewhere by the beach in Del Mar. I can't remember the place, but I bet I had 5 Cali burritos in the 4 days I was there. Hands down the best burritos I've ever had. Now, I simply don't want a burrito if it doesn't have French fries stuffed inside.

breweries
Coronado Brewing Co has good beers
Bay City Brewing in downtown San Diego has a great rooftop bar
Avoid Mission Brewery in downtown SD. Great beer, but lots of homeless hanging around
Not sure how mobile you are, but those are the best, IMO, nearest you.

Last year we tried Rovino in the Little Italy section of San Diego and it was very good.
2034 Kettner Blvd
San Diego, CA 92101
I have eaten at George's in La Jolla several times. Food is decent but you are there for the view.

No comment on food, but I always feel a trip to San Diego is wasted if you don’t go to the Point Loma Tide pools at the Cabrillo National Monument. (Pro tip..Drive all the way to the last parking lot before the coast guard station at the end of the road and hike down from there). Amazing

Old school Italian in Little Italy, go to Filippi’s Pizza Grotto.
Nothing fancy. Walk in, you’re inside a small market, go down the hall it opens into the restaurant. Place has been there since the 50’s.
