Anyone that owns a bay or offshore boat knows that’s about right.

more like double that at least offshore...’
I’d be shocked if Red snapper cost me less than $150/lb

If you in the North would pay the advertised price, you’d be nuts. Even the advertised online price is high. But if you call and speak to somebody and order before and develop a rapport, you’re not going to pay full advertised price. I’m not going to say it happens all the time, but there are good deals to be made with anything if you’re smart.
And if the company you’re working online is reputable and can deliver on the quality and cost point, it’s worth the few extra bucks to have that salmon slab on your stove.

Oh yeah well in that area makes sense...kuskokwim is the largest subsistence fishery in the entire United States, all off the road system, with like >90% of the users being native Alaskans

No hatcheries out in western Alaska.

No throwbacks either. You keep everything. People would kill you out there if you through something back.

For sure, different ball game that we all chalk up to a great time on the water. Not to mention the experience.

I said I didn’t pay for it. I paid nothing. Pay attention if you’re going to participate in the discussion.

Caught a few kings last year fishing the Kenai. Brought home about 35 lbs of filets. The best salmon I have ever had, cooking it myself on a cedar plank. Like butta, I tell you.

Salmon from the finest restaurants in town cannot compare to real fresh caught salmon. It is a total eye-opener, for example when getting salmon from Bonefish.

Ruffino's has an "in" with the Copper River run, so get it while you can.

Always been more of a fan of wild sockeye but the king is the best. It’s really unbelievable.

Yeah for sure. Sockeye is in all the stores though. Have to search for king salmon (chinook)

Neither the taste of the fish nor the enjoyment are diminished, I assure you.
