I think you misinterpreted Gaston's post. He was criticizing the food in the pic he posted, not Jones' octopus, which he complimented under the same picture.

Reading comprehension ... it's important.

He thinks I'm horrible for the MIL comment. That, or he hates my backsplash.

TD FACT ; pointing out downvotes or even mentioning them will get you more downvotes. Just let them slide. It's usually trolls who downvote just to get a rise out of people.

Also ALxTgr did not get your post at all...

Louisiana Lady sounds like my fiancee, I'll make some really good meal and she will compliment me on how good it looks, but then not try it because of an ingredient I used.

He was not calling Jones' food Mother in Law cooking.
He was posting a pic of his own mother in law cooking. Saying Jones did not deserve a downvote.

I'm a big fan of mosaic tile. I like to make tables out of old sewing machine bases and use mosaic tile as the top. That looks good.

There isn't much I won't try, but I have always hated the texture of squid/octopus. I can do fried calamari, but we never get it because by the time it is fried and dipped in marinara, you might as well get mozz sticks for less money.

Jones has a knack for cooking weird shite. I don't know if you remember the fish head soup thread. He ate the eyeballs out of those things. The thing about these types of dishes is that they smell SO BADLY in the process that it ruins it. I could possibly eat the octopus in a restaurant where I didn't see the head guts and smell the horrid raw smell.

Oh no. I totally got it I remember the thread. I called him out then on his snobbery then as well. Just a horrible attitude with no defense whatsoever. It's one thing to not like something. It's another to tell people they should not like it.

No, that was from another thread I'm pretty sure. Could be wrong.

I know, and agree with that part.

Well I don't think I would eat the fish head soup. My SO won't eat any fish, crab or seafood other than Shrimp and Crawfish. Doesn't like burgers, or roast beef either, but loves steaks.

Super picky, then with her kids, one only eats salads and the occasional chicken. The other only likes to eat meat. Both oddly like Calamari though as long as they think it's "Circle shrimp"
Surrounded by picky people. On the other hand I'll try anything.

How much does a octopus cost these days? Been a minute since I've priced one out.
