Would wearing a long sleeve button down shirt and Khaki shorts be a NO for Friday dinner at Clancy’s?

This whole working from home covid-19 situation has given me an aversion to wearing pants.

I mean they’ll let you eat there with that on. But you’d be wearing a long sleeve button down shirt and shorts.

Yes there are only a handful of places I would wear a jacket and Clancy’s is not one of them.

I wouldn't wear this anywhere, much less Clancy's

Was asking if it would be acceptable for myself to wear, but, thanks for letting me know you personally wouldn’t wear that - anywhere. Will keep that in mind next time I wonder what you personally would wear- anywhere. Thanks for the insight.

Just how short will your pair of shorts be? That could make a difference.

Oh and I plan to roll the sleeves up, if you can post your email I could send you some pictures of the sleeves rolled up, the short length and stock photos of people wearing similar clothing combinations in public for reference.

I'm the exact opposite. I'd never go there without at least a blazer. As to the OP don't wear shorts at Clancy's even at lunch.

The waiters are in formal attire, you are dining on white table cloth and you will be having multiple courses in a fine dining setting. What about that experience begs this question?
They are doing to-go orders now if pants is a bridge too far.

That's a negative.

I had to get dressed up with a coat and tie on Monday for something and that was the first time I put on pants since mid March. It actually felt good to get dressed up.

simple question, would it be ok to wear shorts. simple answer is NO. Thanks for the answers and responses, it's a wonder more people don't post questions on this board when they get a bunch on condescending answers.

y'all have a great day

Geez, lighten up, Francis. Sounds like, whether you wear shorts or pants, first you need to unbunch your panties.

That sounds like your looking to pull off a Lt. Dangle motif...hard pass.

I'm kidding you anyway. Don't wear fricking shorts in a nice place like that. Just don't.
