Stephen Hightower is planning a new restaurant for the former Bistro Byronz space on Government Street, which was vacated in January when the longtime Mid City restaurant relocated to the former White Star Market space in Square 46.

Hightower isn’t ready to discuss details of his new eatery, which he hopes to open in late spring, but says it will be called The Spoke and Hub—a play on words that refers to Government Street’s new road diet and bike lanes.

“We want it to be a great neighborhood spot, just like it already was,” says Hightower, who is planning to renovate the space and make it more “user friendly.”

Additionally under City Group Hospitality, which Hightower co-owns with Patrick Valluzzo, are: City Slice Pizza and Pie, Rouj Creole, Beausoleil, and Turning Point Food Services, the latter of which is a new division that caters school lunches for Catholic High School and the Baton Rouge International School.
Catholic High lunches have come a long way since Mama Lu. They better have kept crispitos on the menu. Lol.

I think they're also doing a ghost kitchen taco place out of City Slice, and they have 2 City Porks on campus (Design Building and Vet School). I wish they would bring back the Deli and Charcuterie restaurant like the original City Pork.

Ive been to City Pork on Jefferson 3 times in the last couple of months and they are doing a really good job. I wasn’t a big fan previously.

Thats a good location on Government. Hope they do well.

I don't get why BB decided to move locations. That place is iconic and busy, I don't see it working well at White Star.

Why not? It’s just moving a couple of blocks down the street into a virtually brand new, spacious location. I think this is a good fit for both BB and WS.

Damn, they are buying up everything! I don’t hate it.

I have always liked CP, and I love both Rouj and Beausoleil Coastal.

Wait so White Star is opening back up? When did this happen?

They're not opening into a food hall. Byronz is going to take up I think they said 2/3 (?) of the space. Something like that.

the residual uncontrollable shits really tested the plumbing of that building.

I really liked the original City Pork. They actually had a really good take on a Bahn Mi. The Jefferson Hwy location just isn't good.

City Slice is decent albeit incredibly greasy pizza. I did talk to a bartender a while back about how that place has changed hands so many times. He said they would likely never close because they prep all the food for the two City Pork cafes on campus. Parking is just always a mother fricker over there
