I figured that's already addressed and then some, by the extremely low brewery density in LA. All of us were swill drinkers at some point (except for UT, who was probably drinking Belgian Lambics in elementary school), and something converted us. More breweries will open more eyes.

Look at all the people who think that Corona is high falutin, who are drinking Ghost. More breweries will lead to more craft beer drinkers.

I might have made that exact point already.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's very slow.

There are a lot more people drinking craft beer for sure but there is a lot more of it around now. We didn't even have a Brewery in New Orleans 10 years ago and Abita was able to leverage the local thing for decades. Now craft beer is mainstream and taprooms are the trendy places to be seen so maybe you are right. I still think we see one of New Orleans production breweries close or get bailed out before we see Ben Simmons win a championship.

Bingo.

My dad is a perfect example of this. He can't stand IPAs, but he enjoys the hell out of Bayou Teche's Ragin Cajun beer and Parish Canebrake. I like those two beers just fine as well outside on a hot summer day, but when I come home from work and cooking dinner, I'm not pouring either of those into a pint glass. Fresh Cocodrie, Ghost or Envie definitely works, but there's not as much of those on the shelves as the two he drinks.

His money spent on the two "regular" beers from those Acadiana breweries is helping pump money into their businesses to produce the stuff I like.

There's a contingent here that likes Cocodrie

They hit a really good one (sales and popularity wise with non maven beer drinkers) with their Ragin Cajun beer. Nothing special about it. Simple Kolsh. But like Canebrake, it has sold very well with the non-IPA type beer drinkers. There's also a contingency in Acadiana who may buy it because of the name, but I doubt that many people would continue to drink beer they find tastes bad just because of the name.

My wife, father, and even mother who generally doesn't care for beer, like it. Again, easy drinking beer that can appeal to a broad base to maintain good revenue flow.

Peach IPA is ok, but not something I look for. To me, their good ones are Cocodrie, and my favorite from Bayou Teche, Meil Savauge (honey ale aged in whiskey barrels).
