Anyone go yesterday and check it out? I know they had free food from 5-7.

Probably gonna go over for lunch and I have never been before. What should I get?

There is only like 3 choices

Burrito, burrito in a bowl, or tacos

I got the carnitas in a bowl with the spicy salsa, wild rice, a little pico and lettuce and very little cheese. It was 500 calories or so and very good.

One thing I'm bummed out about with this location: No liquor license.

Why? Everyone else serves alcohol in the area.

Seriously?

What a dumbass move. A lot of money left on the table with that move.

The girl I asked looked at me like I was asking if they served hamburgers. So I doubt it.

They should though. They usually have a decent bottled beer selection and most I've gone to have margarita machines. I can't imagine it would be a zoning issue right there at the north gates.

That is one of the things I really like about Chipotle... They keep it simple (so that everything is as fresh as possible) and it makes the decisions a good bit easier for me at least.

Anyway - I always go with a barbacoa burrito, rice, black beans, cheese, pico, corn salsa, guac, lettuce

Kenny, there's a Chipotle hater who will come on here and lecture you on how the food is made at a commissary and comes in a bag (which is true, but their process is quite ingenious).

As far as liquor goes, don't take what I said before as definitive. During the trial run, things were quite chaotic, so I couldn't exactly chat up a manager or anything. I just asked the girl standing by the door on the way out.

Is Chipotle just another Izzo's?

As a big fan of the Chipotle in Vegas when I lived there I can tell you that they didn't sell beer. This is place you run through the line to get a burrito or whatever made to order as you tell them what toppings you want ala Subway. Anyone looking for kickass dining experience is a complete baffoon. Also, the average time I've spent dining in at a Chipotle from entrance to exit is 24 minutes. Buy a beer from the Circle K on the way out if you need it.

Well the one you frequented must have sucked

I've been to three different ones (NY, Dallas, Houston) and all three sold alcohol

I'm an Izzo's kinda guy. No queso at chipotle. I think that their lack in options is something that people here are not going to like.

The one I went to always had a line out the door at lunch. I never tried it for dinner and definitely didn't think I needed booze for the few minutes I was woofing it down.

Sounds like I'm getting the same thing I get at Izzos. I'll report back with my findings

Well, strike1 if that's true. I like chips/queso and I also like queso on my burrito.

doesn't matter tho, I have an Izzo's right around the corner from my house, so I'll stick with Izzo's, which I like alot anyway.

This is a funny exchange given that just about any build-your-own-burrito chain owes a debt to Chipotle or Freebirds, which is actually a bit older than Chipotle (they evolved seperately).

Chipotle is known for its guac and chips. Their guac is not the best I've had, but by far the best at the price point.
