King’s Wok is solid. Best fried rice for sure.

not a premium place, but New China at acadian and florida is solid. Better than all the other generic Chinese take out places imo.

China Bear couple were originally at Millerville at Old Hammond in 1990s and early 2000s..

Their Smoked Duck Egg Rolls are usually awesome.

Bumping this old thread.

Asian Seafood House

We went in Saturday after my freshman at LSU had recommended their Dim Sum and soup dumplings. It was the best Chinese food I’ve had since visiting china town in San Francisco. There was no one else there so served quickly and felt a bit out of place but I attributed that to the lack of crowd. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying something different.

Yep. They were called Hong Kong when they were on old hammond. We lived right around the corner and they always recognized us. I went to grab lunch there a couple weeks ago and she still recognized me. Great people and good food. I find their general tso's chicken to be the best for the take out tier of chinese food.

Mandarin's was the best in the 80's, Shings and Great wall were good too.

Now.. it's Chinese Inn on Nicholson or Chengs Essen for me

Oriental Pearl for consistently good American-Chinese takeout

Asian Seafood House for dim sum, hot pot, and other awesome dishes.

This is my favorite place to get Chinese from in that area as well. Super good.

This is great info. Loved Hong Kong on Millerville. Will be ordering from China Bear from now on. Great people. Was sad when they got kicked out after the flood on Millerville.

RIP to Big Heads bar too. That was a great little shopping center at one time.

Sad to hear that Hunan has changed. I knew that Jeffrey had passed 2 or 3 years ago. Jeffrey was awesome but very stingy with the soy sauce packets for to-go lunches.

Best Chinese used to be China Express on Coursey. I think they're still there, but under different ownership and the food is not near as good.
