I've been the chimes with you and you enjoy it as well. You're just stirring shite.

This says nothing about your irrational love for all things BR. I will debate this further with you at another time.

I can see your point. Chimes has the same tired arse menu and their "specials" are some piece of overpriced fish with crab meat tossed on top. I find the Chimes to have solid food but the price is too high for what I've been getting lately.

The menu there is just stale but I guess with the turnover in there they don't need to do anything.

Walk On's is straight up GARBAGE. The only reason to ever go is the bar.

I go to the Chimes for the beer, not the food, although the Blackened Alligator, Mahi Royale, Sausage and (chicken) gumbo, and raw oysters are my go to dishes.

I've never been disappointed in what I'm expecting from those dishes for the price.

Chimes brunch is good.

Their beer selection is pretty good.

They took the alligator sausage off the app menu a few years ago and it pissed me off.

Chimes needs a Golden Tee machine to go with their delicious cheese fries and cold beer.

i dont expect culinary genius from them... but they do serve a decent meal.. its a fun place to bring out of towners as it is near LSU... the food is MUCH better than walk ons... i am sorry but if you disagree i am not even going to provide an argument.

I don't get it either. We had out of town family come in this weekend and they've already gone to the Chimes twice in 3 days. I certainly don't hate it or anything, but I just don't see where it's the best place in BR.
I think if you're coming in from out of town and jonesing for some seafood, why not do Chimes one night and LL the other?

I agree. Some people think Chimes is the BEST FOOD EVER and Walk-Ons is complete crap. I definitely don't ever go to Walk-Ons to eat, but when I go there for games or something, I always order something and never once have I been grossed out by something I order there. I find only little differences between it and Chimes. Obviously, I'd choose Chimes before Walk-Ons anyday, but really I don't visit either unless a group is going there and we get invited. I never even think about Chimes on my own choice.

I very rarely hear anybody over the age of 20 suggest this place for a really good meal in BR

Man, I do. Brag flies all the time for work and people are always telling passengers coming into BR that the Chimes is a must-eat. I think this contributes to out of towners eating there multiple times in one stay instead of trying other places. Chimes is good for what it is.. I absolutely agree with that. I guess just when I personally go out of town, I don't want to spend multiple nights eating okay bar food. I want to eat the best of what I don't have at home.
