How’d it end up?

I use the dried chilies found in the store. Split in half, remove the seeds and broil until outside is a little burnt. Steep in about 1 cup or less of hot water like making tea for 20+ minutes. Using an immersion blender, blend well. Add 1/2+ of mixture to chile reserving the other half to add latter as per your liking.
for a gallon of chile I use 4-6 chili peppers depending on the size. I use both ground meat and diced pork chops. I too use dark chocolate and dark beer.
I haven't used zing zang yet but will in my next batch.

Chocolate bar. I think it was here where I learned this trick a few years back, and damn it’s good. I’ve done this ever since. Yeah it’s just throwing a hersheys chocolate bar into it.
I’ve used chocolate before, but always dark chocolate. And when I use chocolate, I add a bottle of Modelo Negra.
Don’t do it very often, just when I want to do something different.

GB, can you share your recipe? I’m not asking for your seasoning mix ingredients. Some of us may have ordered it. Might want to do GB chili for the Bama game.

I actually took notes form Binging with Babish on Malone's recipe.
I will steep 8-10 dried pablano peppers until soft, then blitz with some of the water to make a chili past.
dice 3 bell peppers, 10 cloves of garlic, and two onions
Brown ground beef (I think I may try adding breakfast sausage in the future) and remove from fat in the pan.
Saute your vegetables and add the ground beef after they are translucent.
Add a can of diced tomatoes, two cans of rotel, 1 tbs of cumin, 1/2 tbs of smoked paprika, chili paste, and 6ish cups of beef broth.
Add beans if you want then simmer for an hour.
At the end, add a tbs or two of masa to thicken a bit.
Serve with tortilla chips, cheese, and onions.
*I like to add cocoa powder when I feel fancy

Go to store
Buy Cajun Power Chili Starter
Follow directions on jar
Enjoy
I'm only kidding...kinda. There's some great chili recipes out there, and it's always worth spending the extra time to make something scratch, but this Cajun Power stuff is really good for something quick.

I have a pot of chili simmering now thanks to this thread. My recipe is listed below. I substituted 2 cups of ZingZang for the water. My first taste test seemed very good.
2.5 lbs ground chuck
Salt, Onion, Garlic
29-30 oz tomato sauce
2 packs (2.5 oz) McCormick chili seasoning
One 16 oz jar of Pace Picante
1 can (16 oz) Bush Chili Mild Beans
1 can (15 oz) Bush’s Mixed Beans
1/2 cup (4 oz) mild salsa
Red Hot (couple of dashes)
Green Cholula (couple of dashes)
1 tsp Chipotle powder
2 cups (16 oz) water

Try Purdue Boilermakers Chili recipe. It’s awesome & if you Google it, you can find it on All Recipes web site & there’s also a low fat version. I call it Drew Brees Chili. Very good.
