Heading there soon so now trying to get reservations

Right now I have planned
Edmund Oast- brewery
Reverly- brewery

Virginia's on King- breakfast
The Darling Oyster Bar- dinner
Star's Restaurant - dinner/after-dinner drinks on the rooftop
Butcher and the Bee- lunch

Wanting to hit Poe's Tavern for lunch one day

Any recommendations?

I have 2 more evening meals needed to fill and lunch spots. Price range for 2 should hopefully stay under 150 before the alcohol/tip. Open to trying pretty much any type of food but normally sway towards seafood, Italian, and contemporary American cuisine.

Will be staying in the historic district downtown and will have a vehicle.

FIG is great but could exceed your price range. Wild olive for Italian. Bowen’s island is classic for a low country boil and beer in the marsh, but honestly it’s bland compared to seafood boils in Louisiana. Leon’s oyster shack (great fried chicken) is a great spot, but your pick of the darling is better for oysters. 167 Raw and Amen Street are bothering great oyster bars as well. Oh, Coda del Pesce is great for Italian/seafood. Lots of great food so you won’t go wrong. Have fun!

Oh, if you like fried chicken sandwiches go to Boxcar Bettys. Really good!

The last time we were down there we went to a French restaurant called Goulette and it was insanely good. It's a great spot to check out. They have a really good wine list and the owner was there and was a trip.

I lived in Charleston for two years while completing culinary school when JWU was there.

I worked at 39 Rue de Jean, Coast, FIG, & Fish.

Of the 4 mentioned, FIG is the only one I would recommend (FISH is now Halls).

There are plenty of good restaurants in Chucktown and many of the suggestions in this thread are worthy of your money.

Good luck and enjoy the city.

Xiao Bao Biscuit or their sister spot (name escapes me) is really good.

I think Husk and Fuel are both way overblown and not that amazing.

Deep cut, but Paige's Cafe in MP has great liver if you're into it.
