Where is the best one stop shop in BR for a charcuterie Board rookie seeking to put one together this weekend? Would it be better to buy from someone? It’ll just be for me and the lady

Hopefully the locals will chime in, but Whole Foods should have you covered.

What we drinking with this board?

On a side note, I don't know of any restaurant in BR that has a Charcuterie board. Am I missing any?

(One of the best I ever had was at Butcher and the Boar in Minneapolis).

I would go to Fresh Market, Calandro's or Whole Foods. They have the best selection of cured and smoked Italian meats. They have mortadella, prosciutto, salami, ham, olives and cheese and breads.

Fresh Market has the best selection of breads.

I don't find Whole Foods has the selection of cured meats that Fresh Market or Calandro's has, but Whole Foods has a nice cheese selection and a nice, fresh selection on their olive bar.

So I'd probably go to those three or one of the three for the best picks..

It's one of Whole Foods many odd strictures that they don't carry nitrate cured meats.

I just do whole foods. We probably do it once a month or so. They have a cranberry pepper jelly in the cheese section that is so good.

I would pick up all your meats at Anthony's Italian Deli. You could probably get most of your cheeses there as well.

City Pork used to have a special — “board & a bottle” which was the charcuterie board + a bottle of wine for $25. When we went we liked it to much we ordered a second one. You’d have to check and see if they still offer it.

That’s another good question. I’m moving one step at a time.

Iverstine, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, and you could actually put together a pretty solid board from Trader Joe's if you wanted to.

Y’all say what y’all want about Whole Foods cures meat selection but the best cured meat I have ever had is the black truffle calabrese at 30$/lb. I could eat that stuff until it comes out of my ears.

Nino's has a real good board and a good wine list to go along with it.
