I don't usually drink it but my fiance's family is coming over for NYE and thought that it would be a great addition to the celebration.
Any suggestions for a decent bottle that won't break the bank.

Lot of good sparkling. You set on French? How much?

Jump past the $10 to $20 stuff, though I don't mind a $12 Freixenet Cordon Negro for a cheap drink or mimosa. And it's always good to have a few around the house.
Get a Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial or $40ish Veuve Clicquot(Nectar Imperial is better and my fav $45 and under brand the last few years), Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut for about $35, $60ish Krug Grand Cuvee, which shows a clear line of demarcation in taste over the cheaper stuff, yet without breaking the bank for the $100 & up brands/labels.

$20-$50 bottle. I will be buying 2 or 3 of them so the cheaper the better. Best bang for your buck type of thing.

You are in BR?
I was about to suggest Spec's or HEB Central Market.
Nevermind.

No I'm in BR now. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Any place here that would carry these brands?

I like Veuve Clicquot.
Albertson's typiclly has a pretty decent selection and carries the above mentioned brands. Also check World Market and Sam's.

Whole Foods, Marcello's, Martin, Calandro's on Perkins, Matherne's either location..and some may be found at Sam's Club on Seigen.

Perrier Jouet, better than Vueve. Rouses had it for $39 last time I checked.

For a small group without breaking the bank, I would go with Simmonet- Febvre Cremant du Bourgogne. No its not a true champagne but always scores in the upper 80's- low 90's and is priced anywhere from $14-$18.

Shramsberg is solid as is thier lower tier Merribel (sp?) for the price, as the wines are treated the same for the most part.

Louis Roederer Estate Brut Champagne can be picked up for about 25 bucks at Calandro's, Albertson's or Martin.

I picked up a bottle of Roederer Estate for $20 today. Best pick at that price.

I hadn't bought one in some years..and always on deep sales at Mathernes, Dorignacs, Martin, Marcello, Spec's,etc..when I do bother to stock up..inflation..$120 to $145..yikes.
Charles Krug anything is gonna cost aplenty.
I stay $50 and under for Champagne.
