I always assumed they were all the same, but the ole lady (no pics) tried to get to-go blood orange marg (for margarita day) tonight from Carreta's grill and they act like they havent heard of that. The other 3 i have been to have it. Mind blown! The name is too similar to not be connected. What is the deal? Is one a fancier version of the other? Two mexican broads with the same name started restaurants in the same area?

ETA. Carreta's grill sucks- salsa tastes carbonated. Do not make the same mistake

I don't like either of them. Garcia's is my go-to here.

I'm in Madisonville also. I refuse to go to Carreta's on 21 these days. Garcia's or Pappi Fajita are my only two local Mexican joints to hit.

Never tried Pappi Fajita. We actually like the La Carreta in Ponchatoula. We were hoping empa taco would be good, but it was lacking.

La Carreta has the best Queso and that paired with chips and a few cold beers is all I really need. If I'm eating I usually get fajitas.

LaCaretta has good queso, but Garcia's has good complimentary salsa and bean dip, plus their queso is very close to LaCaretta's.

After the queso, I don't enjoy anything else at LaCaretta.

The steak wrap at lunch from Garcia's is off the hook.

I love casa garcia. The bean dip alone is worth the trip.

You need to go to Habenero's. Best Mexican on the Northshore hands down

I went last week for the first time with my folks. They wanted to go after a rec Tom gave on the food show.

I'll be back.

True, but it is always a battle to see who gets the lone jalapenos they drop in the bean dip.
