I don't care if it is electric or manual. I just want one that works properly.

get a Kitchenaid colored handle one off of Amazon. they're quite sturdy.

I went through 3 electric can openers and hated everyone of them. Bought this 2 years ago....does what it's supposed to do and does it well.

This is the best I have had if you can find one. I just searched Amazon and didn't see one.

I've gone through many of the manual ones too. It's driving me crazy.

tried the Kitchenaid, threw it away, POS, like a manual though, came across a Farberware with rubberized handles and it works great.

I prefer the ones that cut the side of the lid. Never had an issue with mine.

Went through about three kitchenaid manual ones in about as many years. All stopped cutting in short order, and found themselves in the trash. Got an oxo now; no worries so far but still early.

I've had my kitchenaid for almost 8 years and it still works almost like a charm- it's finally starting to slip or jump off the can, but I figure we got our money's worth
ETA: you can find them at Marshall's/TJ Maxx for under $10 I believe.

That thing sucks to operate, there are hardier, better operating hand held openers out there to be found.

That's how I use all the manual ones that fall apart. It's a pain in the behind. I have to punch it all the way around the can. I don't remember can openers being so flimsy not that long ago.

That's all I ever use.

So funny Degas. That is the one in our kitchen. The wife hates it because one of the black handles comes off. I just push it back on and continue as before. Has been that way for three or four years. Maybe I should superglue it. Hate to try to change an old friend just because they happen to have a minor fault.

Had an oxo for 5 or 6 years now. Still works well.
