My son loved them at Peche a few months back. Excellent Oysters f
Correction...I believe Pesche is selling oysters rfrom a different operation, Caminada Bay Oyster Farm, which uses a similar growing method.

Does the off-bottom growing affect the taste (i.e., make them less "Gulfy")? I have to admit, I'm mainly a fan of Northeastern oysters.

I've heard the Murder Point oysters at Compere Lapin are life changing, but I've never had them.

That was a good read thanks for posting Otis. Even after the first paragraph I wondered if poaching would be a problem and lo and behold they had 2 cages stolen. I think what they're doing is great and they will be successful. Good to know they taste good.

I haven't had the floating basket oysters but I've had oysters out the bay in the past.

I too immediately thought that yahoos would have no compunction about filching oysters from those floating sets. It's a damn shame, but the same sort of people steal crabs out of traps.

My son said were the best he's tasted and I have fed him many varieties on Atlantic oysters.

Had them at borgne. They were as large as gulf oysters. Very clean flavor profile. Not salty like the gulf oysters I am used to. Hard to describe but they were almost creamy. I prefer gulf, but its what I am used to.
