GF and I went to The Overpass Merchant for brunch on Sunday (which was excellent and a review will follow soon). I ordered coffee and they brought me a huge cup. I took a sip and it was absolutely delicious. Well beyond Community or Folgers or whatever. I asked them the brand they used and they told me about Cafeciteaux.

I looked them up online and didn't know we had the gem in Baton Rouge. I will be looking to buy their coffee from now on as it was truly transcending in terms of coffee enjoyment.

I'm a fan. I think they're only available in Calandro's and Alexander's at the moment.

Their coffee is fantastic. But please don't buy any. Demand is starting to exceed supply! I've started calling stores to make sure they have it before I waste a trip. If I had money to invest I would try my best to talk those guys in to opening up a brick and mortar coffee shop.

I like their roasts just fine but they need to get a shop because Reve and French Truck are coming to town and competition is about to get stiff.

Yup... good stuff.
Didn't click the link.... but side note, southern craft uses their coffee in their new stout. They are next to each other behind the little village.

Agreed. And there is really nothing on the shelves at the places I shop that compares. The good news is that it hits the shelves pretty fresh, usually roasted within a few days. Their Ethiopian and Burundi are the best IMO.

Just checked out their website and bought a bundle that included a 33oz french press, a mug, and a bag of their coffee for $35. Been needing to buy another press after I broke mine in the sink while washing a few months back. Noticed that many of their roasts are out of stock right now as was mentioned above, but I chose the Colombian Planadas Tolima to try out. Gonna pick it up tomorrow after work.

I usually just drink my coffee black. Pick up a bag from PJs and they grind it up for me.

How much different is the taste when using the french press method? I've never had it, but if Cafeciteaux's coffee is that good and the press method is great I might buy this bundle and give it a try.

ETA: I really like the coffee mug.

Personally, I like the french press because I feel it produces a smoother, richer cup of coffee. I also like it to use for cold brewing. At night before bed just throw in your grounds, pour some cold water over it and press and pour in the morning.

I also really liked the mug too after seeing it in Zombie's post and that is what initially took me to their website

These guys had an "open house" type deal this weekend at the Roastery. I got a chance to go and give it a try and meet the guys. I'm a supporter. The coffee is great. Really good guys running the show too. And the mug, as others have said, is awesome .

I knew absolutely nothing about any of this prior to going this weekend. I just figured I'd give them a shout out here.

Hey, whoa, Cafeciteaux may be better than Community for all I know, but Community still doesn't deserve to be in the same grouping with Folgers. That's all I'm gonna say.

Jay Ducote's Coffee is theirs. I picked up a bag this weekend at the farmer's market from him and had it yesterday. It was quite enjoyable.

Yeah, they roast it (and probably package it) for him.

If y'all are stricking it on cafeciteaux you should check out garden district. They roast their own in house. Very good stuff as well.

Hard to beat freshly roasted coffee

Been tempted to buy one of those, any of you ever use one?
