It was supposed to go in the building nextdoor to Rocca on Governement.... Guess they said screw that, and ended up nowhere near Mid City but left the name.

After visiting a similar taproom in North Carolina earlier this year, Patel says he, his wife and their business partner decided to bring the concept to Baton Rouge because it could potentially add value to Mid City.

“Mid City is turning into the new Magazine Street of Baton Rouge, and I want to make sure that I can contribute to it,” he says. “We visit New Orleans and Magazine Street quite often. I think it’s wonderful that Baton Rouge is trying to do the same in a different way.”

Never been to a place like this, but from what I gather: You walk in and get a gift card basically. You go up to whatever tap you want, put your card in, and pour as much as you want into a glass. All the beers will be priced per oz, and your tab goes on your card. At the end of the night you have to pay off your card.

I’m going to guess he saw the beer garden being built virtually across the street and didn’t think it would be a good idea to try and compete

So it's more of a bar, than a take out growler fill type deal? I was thinking it was more the latter.

This place opened on Wednesday. I went last night, and it was a nice place. Beer is charged per oz, so you can sample as many beers as you like. Y’all should check it out.
