Broussard/Lafayette Recommendations
Headed to Louisiana with my daughter for March break. We are going to Broussard to attend the Web.com golf tournament (Chitimacha Louisiana Open). I've never been to the area. Looking for recommendations for local favourite restaurants, with an emphasis on authentic.

Thanks

Authentic would be Cajun. Crawfish are in season, so you should eat them at least three different ways. Boiled crawfish at the Boiling Point or Dwight’s. Crawfish Bisque at Don’s Downtown (one of my favorites). Crawfish dinner st Riverside.

Other notable Cajun restaurants: Blue Dog, Prejean’s (get the crab cakes), Don’s Hut

Nash’s in Broussard is very good, but I would’t call it Cajun food.

You should go to Scott for lunch one day and get boudin from Billy’s or Don’s. Boudin is very Cajun.

Chicken and sausage gumbo is Cajun and is on a lot of lunch menus. You should work that in somewhere.

I hope you have nice weather for your tourney and enjoy you culinary adventure.

Did Hook n Boil in Broussard close for good?

This used to be a legit lunch spot but I don't know if they are even still in business

Riverside Inn in Broussard
Bon Temps on Verot in Lafayette
Nunu’s in Youngsvillie for different types of sausage to put on the pit back home
Billy’s in Scott for boudin
Parish Brewery in Broussard for good beer
T-Coon’s for breakfast if you get a chance
Seafood gumbo at Don’s downtown (the entrees are mostly meh, but the gumbo is great)

Billeauds in Broussard has damn good boudin and cracklins.

The Boiling Point has good fried soft-shell crabs. Nothing fancy, but pretty good food.

LT's in Broussard - Boiled shrimp and Crawdads are best in the area IMO. Grilled Shrimp BLT is also on point.

Pops Po Boys downtown Lafayette puts a nice spin on the classic Po Boy - Jalaback Shrimp (not always on the board but ask for it and you shall receive) Hot Hot w/ side of ranch (It's hot but they pull off Nashville Hot sauce well) Crawfish Boil Sausage and Delcambre Dandy are also solid.

Johnson's Boucaniere is awesome for BBQ. Located in Lafayette in Saint St area.

Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette - Classic Po Boy spot. Get the Olde Tyme special or Shrimp. Bring cash

Ton's in Broussard has a good plate lunch and also serves breakfast

They've been taking credit/debit cards for a year now, at least. If you do go get the half & half (shrimp/oyster). On Fridays their Seafood Plate is great (has some of the best fried fish you will find on it). The meatball poboy is actually awesome as well.

I used to work with a family member of the owner. They don't just cook good food...they are pretty awesome people in general.

If you like beer and pizza then Bayou Teche Brewery is a great place to visit. The weekends there are a lot of fun. They serve pizza Friday through Sunday.
