I'd take Deanos and Central over Pizza Village any day.

I like Pizza Village's crust.. and Deano's. Love em both. Haven't had Central.

Tried Bread and Circus. Hated it. They gave me one of those fried chicken skins on the way out to try. The chicken was bad. REALLY bad. I spit it out in a napkin outside in the parking lot and threw away the rest. The place was dirty. Not my kinda place at all. I wanted to like it. Didn't happen.

Well you just reiterated that you liked Pizza Village more than B&C, so I guess my point stands?

If you like overly black peppered ground meat on a saltine cracker you'll like Pizza Village. You can't beat the brine shrimp they put on their pizza too. EVERY square inch of the pizza is covered w/ every topping, it's totally overwhelming. Great pizzas don't require copious amounts of toppings on them. I have never understood the love this place gets. B&C and Deano's are head and shoulders above Pizza Village.

I didn’t compare them or say I like one more than the other.
I had a bad experience at one. That doesn’t mean I’m never going back or i won’t possibly have a better experience and have my opinion changed. But I can assure you of one thing: My opinion won’t be changed by posts from strangers on a message board.

Leave it to the F&D board to derail a simple thread

I'm not sure Pizza Village's pizza even qualifies as pizza, but I love it and eat it every time I am in Lafayette. Giant pizza with pepperoni and jalapenos? All. Day. Long.

We went for the first time for their 10 year anniversary party a couple months ago and really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. I knew they did pizzas but they were better than I expected.

Central is definitely my jam. Beyond the pizza, the appetizers are all great (Central Wings and the Central Dip being my favorites), and the cocktail program is great, too. This might be my favorite lunch spot in Lafayette.

Those frickers need a kids menu though.

Genuine question, as I don't have kids. Do pizza places normally offer a kids menu? Seems pizza is one of the most kid friendly foods out there, so you'd just give the kids a slice or two.

Yes, they do. My daughter only eats cheese pizza and my son only eats pizza without sauce. We are an odd crew.

Everyone I know with kids those runts are limited to crap like cheese pizza, or pepperoni pizza. So you're stuck ordering a whole basic pizza for the kids in most cases.

Would grilled cheese would be to much to ask? Maybe buttered noodles? Nuke some frozen chicken fingers with ketchup.

No argument here, there's no reason why a place like Central(and other places) can't crank out a few 6" kids pizzas or whatever. They're doing wings so they must have a fryer, frozen tenders & fries should be easy.

Come on man, are you advocating that a restaurant that wants to be taken seriously should have frozen chicken tenders on it's menu? That's absurd. If you want stuff like that, go to a Chili's or something.

Central Pizza is similar to a place like Pizza Domenica, which I wouldn't think has a kid's menu, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I have to say I'm surprised a kids menu would be expected at a place like that. I don't believe Rocca here in BR has a kids menu. They do have a night where their cheese and pepperoni pizzas are half off, but it is still the full sized pizza.

Red Zep doesn't show a kids menu online or on Waitr either. Pizza joints are usually packed with families because kids love pizza. They probably didn't think they'd need a kids menu with other stuff

Central reminds me of a "hip casual" type of place you'd see in New Orleans (Turkey and the Wolf, etc.) and I don't think those places have kids menus either, but I could be wrong because I also am never looking for them.
