I'm halfway between laffy and BR. So I'm usually in one or the other for dinner during the week.

It just pisses me off. Their charred crust with honey and sausage melt into it was

I don’t think it was this at all. They were still pretty packed up until COVID hit, even though their service had gone downhill. COVID and their reaction to it is what did them in.

Did location maybe have something to do with it as well? Tiny place, depending on traffic can be a bit of a bitch to get in & out of. Wife and I loved it, but for some reason just always forgot about it because we were rarely near there despite living near downtown for a while.

ETA: I had forgotten about this.

Yes, i think they also made news for putting out an antitrump restaurant t shirt a few years ago as well which lost them some customers in one of the reddest large cities in LA

Unlike the French Press Trump thing it backfired both ways and managed to piss both sides off. Trump people were pissed for making fun of Trump, liberals were pissed for joking about sexual assault or something stupid.

They were busy before Covid and they didn't handle it well. The dining room stayed closed for too long. It's a shame. The food is great.

Just looked through old photos.

October 2014.

Shout out to the Juicy Lucy.

Also shout out to technology for no longer having potato quality photos.

The food was great, but getting it sucked.
I hope they reopen in a better venue and get a better FOH manager.

This must’ve happened before I moved to Lafayette, but like I said up until COVID you still had to make reservations to get a table on Friday or Saturday night.

It’s a small restaurant and got fricked (or fricked themselves) with closing the interior, not to mention bad decisions hiring/firing of waitresses just before COVID.

The Krampe family of restaurants should approach the owner and offer a partnership where they supply the business expertise and he supply the cooking/chef expertise....probably a better location..really the owner/chef has talent and just needs some guidance..hell his neighbor restaurant has worst biscuits I've ever eaten but has great business acumen so his place is packed every morning

Yeah, it sounds like he and Mark are quite similar.

You don't like Edie's biscuits? I have never heard such a thing.

They had some cute hipster girls that looked like they would be freaks working in the front. One of the best pizzas in Lafayette.

From what I've heard he wants a career change.

Also, the front house person everyone keeps talking about is his sister.

Yup, pretty sure she's been managing service since day 1.

heard the owner is posting LSAT study books on his personal social media. Seems like a bizarre career change if you're a talented chef
