Wife and i havent had a sit down outing since this whole shite-show of covid. Looking for a place and saw this pop up but never heard of it. Anyone have experience there and thoughts?

I've had a couple of really nice meals there. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. Steaks have been really good and the salads/sides outstanding.

Wife enjoyed sitting in view of Kevin Costner on one visit.

IMO, it's very good.
Really can't go wrong with what you order.
Last time I tried
Short Rib Mac n Cheese - App
Zucchini Crudo - App
Avocado Asado - App

Meal was the Skirt steak and side of roasted cauliflower - it was awesome

ETA: All the sides are good too

Funny, I saw a friend check in on Facebook to this place this past weekend and realized I've never been. I really never hear about it. Will have to make a trip soon.

You will NOT be disappointed. I've been at least four times - I haven't been able to order any other entree but the skirt steak, it's that good. Bar will mix you a mean Caipirinha (Brazilian mojito). Enjoy!

Any distant relation to Edgar Caro?

Half Owner of Baru, Zocalo, and Brasa.

Great food.

Obviously you have not heard of Restaurant August or Doris Metropolitan.

They are not in a crowded strip mall in metry and aren’t sourcing their proteins from Sysco

Was just coming to post this.

I went with a group and was absolutely floored when I got the bill. I've spent less at August and michelin star restaurants.

I'm not sure i have ever been more stunned by a bill in my life.

But then again I think if you are in Metairie you shouldn't be spending very much because...its Metairie.

But still it was one of the single most expensive meals I've had in the area.

It’s a Sysco steak. It’s not an insult, they have good beef and even a place like Mr Johns uses Sysco, but the markup on everything is just silly. Even their wine is crazy.

I went pre-COVID

packed, loud, and for what you're getting, its downright expensive. Ate the pichanha and was very disappointed, maybe it was hyped up too much, but despite Doris being more expensive (albeit slightly), I would still rather Doris.

I honestly had no idea that places like that would serve steak sourced from Sysco.
Then again, I have no idea what Sysco really sells. When I think Sysco I think of styrofoam containers and to go cups.

I learn something new every day.

While Brasa isn't cheap, I don't know that it is the most absurdly priced...steaks are in the $30-$50 range. Expensive if you compare it to what you can do at home, sure, but nowhere near out of line as compared to other restaurants.

Besides, I'm still holding a grudge against Cafe Giovanni...went there years ago with the wife and 2 kids. Kids were young (grade school) at the time - asked the waitress if the kitchen could send out plain pasta with butter (for two). Frickers charged me $40 - for pasta! No proteins, sauces, just pasta & butter! I asked for the manager and told him this is the reason why ya'll will ensure I never go back. Never did. Shame, I really liked the food. Will try Chef Duke's Metry place when I get a chance, though. But I'll just be sure to know what the prices are before I order!

yeah i mean for a good steak that seems reasonable. For the people saying you were "stunned" by the bill, you dont research the menu before you go? You dont read the prices on the menu when there? Are you not capable of doing simple math?
