Salty Girl, best lobster roll and clam chowder EVER.

There is no good lobster roll. It is the great joke on new englanders and the tourists who follow a prescripted narrative of mediocrity.

Loved the clam chowder, raw bar and history of Union Oyster House.

O’Ya is a tough one to get into for sure. For dinner in the Back Bay if you’re still thinking sushi, look at Uni. I’d also recommend Contessa at the top of the Newbury Hotel but if you want to go that route start looking for a reservation asap.

If you’re willing to venture a little outside of Back Bay, I highly recommend dinner at Yvonne’s. You can take the orange line from the Back Bay a couple stops to Downtown Crossing and it’s right there.

Sonzie is a good place to check out for lunch in the Back Bay.

Yep. It is. But, it has great history, a neat, fun oyster bar and the best chowder we had on our trip.

The history is interesting. Have to admit I’m not much of a clam chowder person. I will eat it but it’s not something I would typically order.

As they said on The Good Place, “It’s basically just a savory latte with bugs in it.”

Go get a sandwich at Kelly's Roast Beef Revere Beach location. If you're near a DeAngelo Subs get a Thanksgiving Toasted (gobbler) or a lobster roll. Don't knock it until you try it.

I remember Harpoon Brewing beg fun and having good beer food. A nice spot too.

Don’t send a tourist in Revere without warning him first.

Kelly’s is good though.

Now that this is here, I didn't want to start a new topic, but I will be in Boston next week for a seminar. Just me and a work buddy going so we want to hit up a good steakhouse, maybe sushi and taprooms/breweries. We are staying at the Inn at Longwood.

Capital Grill and Grill 23 were recommended by a friend, but I'd rather the boards opinion.

Any other rec's/hole in the wall/can't miss places are welcome. I am not picky. TIA

Grill 23 or Smith & Wollensky’s for steak, Uni or O’Ya for sushi.

Trillium, harpoon, lamplighter, Night Shift Owl’s Nest, Aeronaut. All good options. There are a lot of breweries in Boston but those are my favorite.

Are there any other spots you recommend we try? Italian or local food

Italian - Mama Maria in the North End. Plenty of great Italian spots in the North End but that one is my favorite. If you’re in the south end MIDA is great too.

For local seafood I’d recommend Row 34 or Saltie Girl. Also in the north end but good oyster spot is Neptune Oyster House.

If you have a vehicle or don’t mind a decently expensive Uber, go out to Duxbury to Island Creek Oysters. It’s where they farm and collect the oysters, beautiful spot right on the water with good beer.

Hey, at least I'm not suggesting South Shore bar pizza.
